Whilst on a business trip to Saudi Arabia I was asked by fellow consultant Kevin Brozyna to join him on a training run in preparation for the Boston Marathon next month.
Kevin is running on behalf of the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge to raise money for their Cancer Institute. He’s also compiling a training blog to chart his progress whilst living in Riyadh and training in such a hostile running environment; compared to his more familiar surroundings of Pittsburgh Pensylvania. With this in mind, I thought why not do the same.
Unsurprisingly the run was hot, but what I didn’t expect were the high winds and the dust. Besides the rocks and sand, I also stumbled across the remains of a dog, a few camels and a very, very long road.
Give me Richmond Park any day!
If you would like to donate to Kevin's cause you can do here. Good luck mate.
