We’re delighted that our very own identity guidelines have won an award at the prestigious Brand New Awards which celebrate the best identity work produced around the world during 2012. We were one of 75 winners from over 700 entries.
We’ve always had our own identity, but had never practiced what we preached to clients i.e. formally documenting standards in a guidelines document. Our growing head count had begun to make creating these guidelines vital. As well as a PDF version we printed a run of perfect-bound A6 books, demonstrating that we were placing great importance on the content.
The design-savvy audience (our own team) meant copy could be straight-to-the-point and demonstrate our playful tone of voice, conveying a serious message without being too heavy handed — although the deliberately incorrect cover was continually corrected by our proof-reader! ï»¿
The guidelines and case study will be showcased in the Brand New Awards book and website later in the year.
