Financial services provider Allianz needed to raise its profile among US high net worth individuals. The World Match Racing Tour – a premier sailing series comprising nine events across the globe – presented the ideal medium. Success demanded maximum brand-exposure.

The solution
Working closely with Hill+Knowlton Strategies sports team, over just three weeks we developed the event identity, named The Allianz Cup, along with full guidelines and content. Toolkit format made for easy implementation on the ground (and on the water) in San Francisco. For maximum standout, Allianz’s logo was integrated into the event logo, while an accompanying ’dueling sails’ symbol offered an instantly recognisable graphic for use online and in promotional material, on yacht liveries and in event branding.
The result
A strong series of America’s Cup teams came to fight it out on the ocean. The high visibility yacht liveries generated Allianz-branded TV with an estimated value of US$220,000. Success encouraged Allianz to maintain their backing for yachting, sponsoring the BMW Oracle America’s Cup team.
