  • City & Guilds Lion Awards 2012

Last night Bisqit's 'Team City & Guilds' swapped black jeans for black ties and hit the red carpet. Michail, Dan and I were lucky enough to attend the City & Guilds Lion Awards at Camden's Roundhouse, where they recognized the success of City & Guilds learners and tutors. We were joined for the evening hosted by Alex Jones by some of our H+K colleagues who were likewise looking very glam (yes we mean you - Sally Domingo-Jones!).

Experiencing the City & Guilds brand translated as an event and hearing the inspirational stories of the learners and tutors really brought the brand to life for us. And having just completed a 6-month brand strategy and guidelines project for City & Guilds it was the perfect time for us to let our hair down and celebrate with our colleagues and client. Needless to say - there are a few sore heads in the office today (Michail!)...

    Congratulations to all the winners!

  • World of talent

Last week Michail, Dan and I visited WorldSkills London 2011, the largest ever international skills competition and careers event — and I have to admit we were blown away!

Bisqit is currently engaged in branding projects in the education sector and WorldSkills London was the perfect opportunity to immerse ourselves in this world. When we weren’t brushing up on our DJ Skills at the City & Guilds stand or checking out the handiwork of some of the best young hairstylists from around the world (my home country NZ were represented), we were busy being inspired by the breadth of talent and the opportunities available to the young people of this nation.

  • Ladybird, ladybird...

I found this at a stall in East London's Broadway Market — A Ladybird book from 1971 “Printing Processes — how it used to work”. I collect Ladybird books anyway but this one especially caught my eye and I had to bring it in to show the Bisqits. Love the mechanical typesetting page.
